Quiet and scenic, Cape May Point State Park is one of New Jersey's most beloved bird watching parks in which to view migratory birds, making the park highly popular during the fall migration season. This is not the park's only draw, however; it is also has a few miles of gentle hiking trails and soft beaches perfect for sunbathing or playing in the water. The park's most distinguishing feature is its 157-foot-tall lighthouse, built in 1859, which still lets visitors climb all the way to the top for beautiful views of the entire area. It resides on the peninsula at the very southern tip of the state, just west of the quaint town of Cape May.
Open daily dawn - dusk.
Free. Lighthouse admission: Adults $7; Children 12 and under $3.
